Aim of SweCog
SweCog is a national graduate school funded by Veenskapsrådet during 2009-2012. The aim of SweCog is to create a wider and richer research environment for graduate students in cognitive science. The graduate school gives graduate courses, has bi-annual conferences, organizes a summer school, and supports interaction between the different universities through sponsoring visits to other participating universities for graduate students, as well as supervision by professors from other universities.
SweCog does not issue any degrees and is not a graduate program; all graduate students are admitted to graduate studies at one of the participating universities: Umeå, Stockholm, Linköping, Skövde, Göteborg, and Lund. Research at the participating universities cover a wide range of basic and applied areas of cognitive science, e.g. cognitive robotics, comparative and evolutionary cognition, multimodal communication, social and cognitive aspects of human computer interaction, joint cognitive systems, studies of consciousness.

Senior researchers can participate in our conferences, host and supervise graduate students from other universitites during an extended visit, or be a secondary supervisor for a graduate student.
Currently 50 graduate students and 68 senior researchers are affiliated with SweCog.
